The politics of paywalls

When I grew up I was allowed to use the family computer at about age 10 and I remember being told about Google. My dad explained how it was able to answer any questions I had, as long as I used the right search terms. It got my mind racing for a couple of weeks - I looked up tons of stuff, mostly history and world war 2 related - and with my curiosity quenched I shrugged it off as a really handy tool to do homework and spend more time at the computer (I’d tell my parents I was looking stuff up).

New job at Kobil Systems

In the beginning of this year I was convinced I was going to do a PhD. Last month there was a particular negative moment that drove me to send out resumés and reach out to people, the details of which will remain private. During this period I scouted Erlang’s slack channel and the #employment channel, and was fortunate enough to come across an offering for Kobil Systems in Worms, Germany.

2019 seems to be on its well on its way to become one of the most pivotal years of my life. This post outlines some recent thoughts about efficiency. Reflecting on some negative results In recent attempts to make one of those typical “2018 in review” posts, I’ve realized that despite having several ideas for projects and some of them being somewhat simple to implement, I didn’t ship anything besides my thesis last year 😐

Hello world!!! Just letting you know that I defended my master’s thesis today, just in time for Christmas. Feels great knowing I’ll be moving on to something else in the near future. Learned a lot this past 2 years, but I’m looking forward to see what I get to do next. I know you don’t give a damn, but I wanted to log this day for later reference.
